The Road That Led Me Here
I’m Amit, the founder and Managing Director of Equanimous Road Advisors. I combine private-equity investing experience with small-business empathy to guide independent veterinarians through once-in-a-lifetime practice sales.
What Drives Me
I come from a family of small-business owners—my dad ran a restaurant for 28 years, and I still remember the day we decided to sell. It taught me how personal this journey can be: you’re not just handing over a set of financials; you’re entrusting your team, clients, and life’s work to someone else. That’s why I approach every transaction with integrity, compassion, and a deep focus on long-term well-being.
Why Equanimous Road Advisors
I founded Equanimous Road Advisors because, after years of seeing deals from the corporate side, I realized independent veterinarians deserved an advocate who truly understood their challenges. My aim isn’t just to “get a deal done”; it’s to create outcomes that honor your staff, clients, and personal legacy. Whether you’re exploring a full sale, partial partnership, or unique joint venture arrangement, we’ll craft a strategy that reflects your goals—not a cookie-cutter formula.
Head of M&A at National Veterinary Associates (NVA): Led the negotiation and closing of dozens of acquisitions, developed NVA’s joint-venture model to create co-ownership pathways for associates, and was a Board Observer guiding strategic growth.
Private Equity & Growth Investments: At Summit Partners, I specialized in healthcare and led the firm’s investment strategy in animal health—culminating in Summit’s buyout of NVA.
$275M in Veterinary Transactions: Having orchestrated deals on both sides—private equity and practice owners—I understand how buyers think and how to ensure sellers receive maximum value and tailor-made deal terms.
Small-Business Mentoring: I’ve invested in and advised various startups, always bringing my expertise in negotiations, due diligence, and leadership to the table.
